Originally from Chicago where he studied economics under some of the world’s best financial minds at the University of Chicago, in the 90s as a young man, he headed straight for the post-Soviet space when everything was wild, unpredictable, and dangerous. When countless entrepreneurs saw nothing but risk and stayed away, Andrew saw the incredible potential and opportunity there and he went for it. He used those extremely intense, high-pressure conditions as a laboratory for developing powerful new systemic solutions to pressing problems of the business world. In Romania in the late 90s, Andrew developed a unique online payment gateway and accompanying merchant management system to handle the newly emerged e-commerce business. This groundbreaking solution was an immediate success. Since then, he has moved effortlessly through many different financial spaces — banks, processors, large merchants, and even governments — in his unstoppable bid to provide the most complete, innovative, end-to-end financial service possible to the online industry. He has lived and worked on four continents in order to partner with the largest warehouses, ports, and gaming companies utilizing his software systems. More than $1 billion in payments have moved through the companies, systems, and programs he has worked with and created. Andrew has been working in the Country of Georgia since 2007 and living in Tbilisi since 2016. He has strategically invested in many up-and-coming Georgian businesses: IT Consulting, Solani Creative, Saidanaa, Baia’s Wine, and others. Continuing his mission of innovative business solutions, Andrew pioneered the very first field-to-table blockchain-based wine bottle authentication system, using the Cardano platform. First deployed by Baias Wine, this powerful technology has been quickly adopted by other winemakers and is a huge step forward for the Georgian wine industry, earning recognition and support from the governmental Wine Agency and wide media attention. Unfamiliar with the wine world before he came to Georgia, Andrew is now a wine enthusiast and an important supporter of Georgia’s developing wine industry. Andrew’s quest for innovative solutions never stops and the next exciting adventures are already underway.

A vocal and active advocate of blockchain from its very beginning, Andrew is co-founder of the Cosmic Crypto Meetup and holds the position of ambassador of the Cardano Blockchain Foundation to Georgia. Thanks to him, the amazing city of Tbilisi is becoming famous as a crypto meetup destination.

But Andrew’s interests and energies go beyond the business and tech worlds. He loves gastronomy, the arts, and sports, and has a deep love for animals inherited from his father, a renowned American veterinarian. He is an ardent supporter of the State Theatre and Ballet. In February 2021, Andrew was deeply honoured to be elected a member of the Georgian Baseball and Softball National Federation executive board. He is closely involved in a D.O.G., an animal rescue charity that helps abandoned and stray Georgian dogs find homes in the United States.
